Doris Culver: Care From the MyUrologyHealth Bundle Made Her Feel ‘Special’

When Doris Culver was feeling intense pain in her lower back, her doctor initially prescribed antibiotics for a possible urinary tract infection. Unfortunately, the pain persisted, requiring a CT scan that revealed three large kidney stones.

That’s when Doris was introduced to the MyUrologyHealth Bundle, and her care kicked into high gear.

“They told me they could take the stones out within days,” Doris said. “I didn't even have to contact the bundle; the patient navigator called me.”

Doris knows a lot about the health care industry. She worked as a nurse early in her career and is now an administrative manager for Vanderbilt Health’s Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology. Despite a long career in the industry, she was surprised at the attention she received in the MyUrologyHealth Bundle.

“I felt special,” she said, “I know hundreds of thousands of patients use Vanderbilt Health for their medical care, but I felt like I received personalized care.”

An All-Inclusive Approach

With MyUrologyHealth, all necessary care services — such as imaging, labs, physician visits, hospital stays and even related emergency department visits — are included, and patients pay low to no out-of-pocket costs. In September 2025, as part of the bundle, Doris had a lithotripsy, a non-invasive, outpatient procedure that uses electromagnetic shock waves to break up kidney stones.

Doris’s dedicated patient navigator, Kristina Baldree, coordinated her care by managing the intake process, booking appointments, answering questions and checking in with Doris regularly.

“She was so nice and supportive every step of the way,” said Doris. “She even gave me her number and told me to call her for anything.” Kristina also shared a kidney stone treatment guide, which features tips on surgery preparation and ways to prevent kidney stones from recurring.

Proactive and Responsive Care

Doris sought Kristina’s help after being billed incorrectly for a service.

“All I had to do was call her, and she took care of it immediately,” Doris said.

Doris was also relieved when Kristina told her that if she had another kidney stone she could re-enroll in the bundle.

“Now I don't have any anxiety,” Doris said. “I know that I'll recognize the symptoms immediately and get back on the bundle for treatment.”

The entire bundles team was “nice and explained everything to me,” she said. “The doctor called me at home the day after my procedure to see if I had any issues.”

Doris is so pleased with MyHealth Bundles that her husband, who has had ongoing heart issues, is now enrolled in the MyHeartHealth Bundle.

“During his first go around with heart ablations and open-heart surgery, we did not have the bundle,” she said. “So, when I found out about MyHeartHealth, we jumped at the chance to enroll him.”
