Two Nashville Events Take a Stand Against Cancer

From a star-studded telecast to a team-focused cycling event, two unique fundraisers are coming to Nashville to fight cancer. Both Stand Up to Cancer and Clip In 4 the Cure, which benefits the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, are raising money to fund critical research and support those affected by the disease.

Stand Up to Cancer

Stand Up to Cancer, a nonprofit that seeks to raise awareness and fund research while aspiring to cure all cancer patients, is airing its ninth televised fundraising special on Friday, August 15 from Nashville. The event will feature country music stars, celebrities, athletes, cancer researchers and survivors. This marks the first time the telecast will be broadcast from Nashville, and it will take place at the new Pinnacle venue.

Airing at 7 p.m. CT on all four major networks and dozens of streaming services, the one-hour special continues SU2C’s 17-year mission to fund cancer research and save lives. Grammy Award-winning artist Sheryl Crow will serve as host, with performances by Jonas Brothers, Noah Cyrus, Gavin DeGraw, Marcus King, Brothers Osborne, Jon Pardi, Jelly Roll, Dan + Shay and CeCe Winans joined by the Nashville Community Gospel Choir.

“We are thrilled that Stand Up To Cancer will be bringing this special event to Nashville, and we welcome them to our city,” said Ben Ho Park, MD, PhD, Benjamin F. Byrd Jr. Professor of Oncology, professor of Medicine, and director of Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. “Our physicians, researchers and patients are familiar with the exceptional work of this organization that funds research to advance cancer treatments, which ultimately saves lives.
