How Vanderbilt Health Provides Executive-Level Care

When Gina Drobnick, CEO of 3LS Ventures, learned that her company provided Vanderbilt Executive Health Physicals (EHP) as part of its executive leadership benefits package, she was initially hesitant.

“Before this program, my medical appointments were always at the bottom of my to-do list,” she said. “I had yet to have some of the most important preventive screenings, like a colonoscopy, and I had only had one mammogram in my life.”

Though she appreciated the concept of comprehensive physical, Drobnick wasn’t sure what to expect from her first visit. Vanderbilt’s executive physicals are built specifically for busy corporate leaders, offering a full day of personalized care in one location. From lab work and diagnostic screenings to fitness evaluations and nutrition consultations, every element of the visit is coordinated, efficient and centered on the patient.

A Strong First Impression

Drobnick was impressed from the start. Even before her appointment, a member of the EHP team reached out to collect her background health information—including a family history—which led to a meaningful personal moment.

“After my initial intake with the nurse, I sat down with my parents to document our full family health history. I ended up sharing it with my siblings too,” she recalls. “Knowing I’d be spending several hours at this appointment, I wanted to be prepared. That process alone made me reflect on how important this benefit really is, for both my health and my family’s.”

Unlike a traditional doctor’s visit, where patients often repeat the same information multiple times, Drobnick noted that her experience was seamless and the staff were respectful of her time.

“At a regular clinic, you answer the same questions when you schedule the appointment, again in the waiting room and another time with the doctor,” Drobnick said. “With the EHP program, there’s none of that. The information flow is efficient, and providers are really listening. It’s a great experience.”

Personalized Care

She also appreciated the personal attention she received from every clinician she met.

“With other providers, they’re often distracted—looking at screens or typing,” she said. “But at Vanderbilt, every provider made eye contact. They asked about my kids. They remembered things I had told them. That personal connection builds trust and makes a huge difference. They’re excellent clinicians, but they’re also exceptional at service.”

This year, Drobnick returned for her second annual physical with the EHP program. Using her previous results as a baseline, providers were able to able to track changes in her health and make recommendations.

“My providers compared changes in my labs and my strength. Some things got better, and others got worse," she explains. “We spent much more time during this session discussing those changes and why they happened. Through that, I learned about some dietary changes that would have a positive effect on my health.”

In addition to standard preventive care, her providers also advised her on supplements and personalized nutrition strategies—support that continues beyond the day of the visit.

“I know I can reach out to them throughout the year if I have questions or need support,” she said. “That ongoing relationship is incredibly valuable.”

A High-Value Benefit

For Drobnick, this benefit has been transformative—both personally and professionally.

“It’s such a thoughtful investment for a company to make in its leadership,” she said. “Yes, it may eventually reduce health care costs for a high-risk group, because executives are often older, more stressed and more likely to delay care. But more than that, it’s about making it easy to prioritize health in a way that’s actually enjoyable.”

“In just four hours, I get so much information and insight into my health. It’s one of the most impactful benefits my company offers, and I’m incredibly grateful for it.”
