Professor of Health Policy Stacie Dusetzina, PhD, and VUMC Urologic Oncology fellow Ruchika Talwar, MD, will be a part of the conversation.
All members of the Vanderbilt community are invited to livestream this event, which can be accessed on this link on Microsoft Teams.
Billionaire business owner Cuban owns the Dallas Mavericks NBA team and is an investor on the ABC television show “Shark Tank.” In January 2022, he founded the online pharmacy Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Co., which seeks to dramatically reduce the cost of prescription drugs in the U.S. and introduce transparency to the pricing of drugs.
The panel will discuss a Journal of Urology paper that shows Cuban’s online drug company could save patients $1.29 billion a year based on 2020 Medicare Part D expenditures on the nine most popular urological drugs. The study was authored by Talwar and Sam S. Chang, MD, MBA, Patricia and Rodes Hart Endowed Professor of Urologic Surgery and VUMC Chief Surgical Officer, Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center.
