On Feb. 11, Pfizer postponed its request to the Food and Drug Administration to expand the use of its two-dose Covid-19 vaccine for children six months to four years.
The decision likely disappointed parents eager to vaccinate their children under 5, but more data was needed, the company said.
In its announcement, Pfizer said that it will wait for its data on a three-dose series of the vaccine, believing three doses "may provide a higher level of protection in this age group." This data is expected in early April.
