The Women's Choice Award released its annual list of the Best Hospitals for Patient Safety, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) was recognized in nine categories.
The award committee assessed 4,728 hospitals across 14 service lines or categories, including patient experience. An enhanced patient experience is one of the hallmarks of Vanderbilt's MyHealth Bundles program.
The recognition was based on most recent publicly available clinical data and HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) scores from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), along with national accreditation information. The award recognizes hospitals with a low incident of surgical errors and infections.
VUMC was recognized in the following categories:
