There are 53 million Americans currently serving as family caregivers to someone who is aging, ill or disabled. A quote from Rosalynn Carter, Former First Lady of the United States, put this stage of life in context: “There are only four kinds of people in the world: those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers.”
Recognizing the prevalence of caregiving in many people's lives, Vanderbilt Health created a caregiving resources webpage.
Vanderbilt Health consulted its Patient and Family Advisory Council in the development of these resources. The site features links to organizations such as the Caregiver Action Network, the Tennessee Caregiver Coalition and others. It also points to articles on:
- Being a Caregiver
- Caring for Children
- Caring for Adults
- Mental Health Caregiver Resources
Share this website with your employees now and for National Family Caregivers Month in November.
