We've been hearing a lot of discussion about employers considering COVID-19 vaccine mandates for their employees. At Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), all employees are required to be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption by no later than September 30.
"We are now seeing significantly accelerating cases and hospitalizations not only among patients but also in our workforce," VUMC said in a statement. "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has determined the delta variant of the virus is more contagious than smallpox, influenza and Ebola, with a transmissibility rate comparable to chickenpox. The risk of spreading the variant to our patients and coworkers has increased significantly." Read more about VUMC's requirement here.
If you're looking for a way to help your employees get vaccinated, Vanderbilt Health Employer Solutions can work with you to host an on-site vaccination event. Our team will contract with you to cover costs associated with administering the vaccine and producing the event. Learn more about this service at this link.
