Want to make a positive impact and strengthen your team? Consider hosting a clothing drive for the VUMC Clothes Closet. They're in urgent need of donations to support adult patients and their families.
Here is a list of the most commonly needed items:
- Men’s sweatpants or athletic pants/shorts
- Men’s shoes and flip flops (no dress shoes)
- Men’s T-shirts (long or short sleeve)
- Men’s button-down shirts (for patients with arm/shoulder injuries)
- Women’s T-shirts (long or short sleeve)
- Women’s pants and leggings
- Women’s shoes and flip flops (no dress shoes)
- New socks for men and women
- Coats and jackets for men and women
- New underpants for men and women (all sizes; must be new)
- New bras for women (all sizes; must be new)
Clothing may be used, but should be clean and not in need of repair. Underwear must be new.
There are many reasons patients need clothing. Sometimes patients are transported to Vanderbilt after a trauma and have no clothing to wear after discharge, or a family member may rush to the hospital without extra clothing and end up staying several days.
