A federal rule that took effect in 2021 requires hospitals and health plans to publish pricing information online, with the goal of helping patients make more informed decisions and encouraging cost transparency across the industry. But for many employers and benefits advisors, navigating health care pricing data remains a challenge.
To help address that gap, Vanderbilt Health has launched the MyHealth Bundles Price Transparency Tool, designed to offer a clearer view of costs associated with common procedures. The tool allows users to compare the cost of Vanderbilt’s bundled services to typical market rates.
“We know that employers and benefits advisors need better access to real pricing information,” said Brittany Cunningham, Vice President, Episodes of Care, Vanderbilt Health. “This tool was developed in direct response to that feedback. It’s meant to provide more visibility into potential savings and support more informed decisions around benefit design.”
The tool highlights the costs of Vanderbilt’s MyHealth Bundles—a value-based care program that includes common procedures such as joint replacements and maternity care—and provides side-by-side comparisons to traditional fee-for-service savings.
